LIGHT BOX

   Attempt on monofrequency light

The project focuses on light manipulation inspired by monofrequency light installations.

THE PROCESS

Monofrequency light emits almost a single wavelength, meaning it produces a very pure color with no mixture of others. This type of light is used in art and science because it allows objects to appear in one strong, uniform colors.

We designed a box filled with different colored materials, shapes and textures. Under normal (white) lighting, the inside looks vibrant and multicolored. However, when we illuminate the box using a specific single-color light, all the objects inside shift into that same monochromatic shade. Colors that don’t match the light wavelength appear darker or even disappear, revealing hidden patterns and contrasts. 



Our project demonstrates how light controls what we see and how colors behave under different wavelengths. By using different types of light (in this case monofrequency/monochromatic light), we can completely transform the visual scape.
